Director's Notes:

We have been truly blessed by some caring and giving people. We have received funds for almost everything on our original wish list. Those items will all be in the building by spring.

Those items include but are not limited to:

  1. Staging for our Multi-Purpose Room
  2. Noise Cancelling System for our Game Room
  3. A new electronic Sign for Ree Street

We also were able to decorate the club for the Holidays from some generous donations from the community.

Our after school program runs from 3-7pm. Please utilize this service time!

We have “The Square” and can accept debit and credit cards for monthly payments and extended service fees. We are excited about this new system and the convenience it will bring to you.

Monthly Fee: The monthly fee at the club is $99 dollars. Families can apply to state for childcare assistance. If denied, they can apply to us for any hardships they may be experiencing.

Ruben Bowen- Youth Development Specialist

In the fall of 2017, I decided I needed to move on from Fast-Food so I applied here at the Club. I was hired and then assigned to the third grade group, and those poor kids were never able to get rid of me. I would be moved to the 4th & 5th grade after about a year and would follow my first group of kids. Now I am in the Teen group with some of the same kids, I had almost three years ago.

My favorite activities are the slow, relaxed ones like coloring pages and rocks. I can recall several conversations I’ve had with kids while coloring and drawing. Those conversations would build a strong foundation of trust between us. I see those kids now, and I can hardly wait to read about their accomplishments later in life when I’m old.

When I am not here at the club working, I am at the High School working on something for one of the several extra-curriculars I’m associated with. (Choir, Newspaper, Book Club, etc.)

In the rare occasion I do have some free time, I’m usually reading, listening to music, or hanging out with my friends.

I owe a lot to the Boys & Girls Club and all of the opportunities and experiences they have given me in the last few years.
